Author: Foodnews UK

Neil Murray writes: the company has pursued an aggressive and successful strategy of winning new accounts in the UK and now supplies more than 20 private label and Don Simon juice products. UK turnover has grown by 25% in 2011 to GBP120 million (USD185 million). The turnover for the whole group, which exports to 113 countries, is EUR660 million (USD881 million).

This year, sales of chilled juice in the UK overtook long life juice for the first time. According to the latest Kantar data, Don Simon sold 13.5 million litres of chilled juice in the last 12 months, three times as much as in 2010. The brand has also developed the children's drinks market with the recent signing of a licensing agreement with Disney to launch a new children's smoothie range in Asda. This will be available to other UK retailers in January 2012.
